The content on our site is provided for general information only and in order to facilitate the online management of your student loan. It is not intended to amount to advice on which you should rely and we have the right to change or withdraw it at any time. Although we make reasonable efforts to update the information on our site, it is provided free of charge and we make no representations, warranties or guarantees, whether express or implied, that the content on our site is accurate, complete or up-to-date.
We do not guarantee that our site or the materials ("Materials") will be free from errors or omissions. In particular you must obtain professional or specialist advice before taking, or refraining from, any action on the basis of the content on our site.
Accessing our site
Our site is made available free of charge.
We do not guarantee that our site, or any content on it, will always be available or uninterrupted. Access to our site and its content or any materials made available on or through our site is permitted on a temporary basis. We may suspend, withdraw, discontinue, restrict access to or change all or any part of our site without notice and without liability. We will not be liable to you if for any reason our site is unavailable at any time or for any period.

Your account and password
Access to and use of certain parts of our site is restricted to registered users of our site. Subject to our right to refuse registration at our absolute discretion, you may register with us for:
a) viewing your account details and outstanding balance;
b) making payments;
c) setting up Direct Debit payments; or
d) making deferment applications.
We are not obliged to accept any request for registration. Accepting or rejecting any such request is our sole discretion.
By submitting a registration form you confirm that you are authorised to register or, if you are submitting on behalf of someone else, that you have appropriate permission and authority to register on behalf of that person.
When you register you may choose your own username and password. If we accept your registration, we will confirm the username that you have selected. If you choose a username that is in use or inappropriate, you will be asked to choose another username.
You must at all times keep your password and username confidential. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your username or password, or of any breach of security known to you. We can reset and/or require you to change your username and/or password for security reasons at any time.
You are responsible for all activities which occur under your username and password, save where such activities occur as a direct result of our own negligence.
Before we can accept any request for registration, we may ask for further details about you, including your address, loan(s) account, reference details, date of birth, last payment and telephone number. You agree to provide any such details upon request.
We have the right to disable any user account or password, whether chosen by you or allocated by us, at any time, if in our reasonable opinion you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these terms of use or if we consider continued use of the account is likely to cause a security issue or to impair the operation of our site.
If you know or suspect that anyone other than you knows your user identification code or password, you must promptly notify us by phone on 0333 003 7188.
Your additional obligations
You will not:
(a) use our site for any illegal purpose and you agree to use our site in accordance with all relevant laws;
(b) upload or transmit through our site any material which is defamatory, offensive, or of an obscene or menacing character;
(c) use our site in a manner which: (i) may cause our site to be interrupted, damaged or rendered less efficient; or (ii) violates the rights of any other person (including, but not limited to, rights of intellectual property, confidentiality or privacy);
(d) use our site in order to transmit, or procure the sending of any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising, promotional or other materials of any nature (spam);
(e) use our site in order to interfere with, damage or disrupt our site, any other website, or any computer equipment, network, systems or software. Interference, damage and disruption shall include, without limitation:
(f) knowingly transmitting any data, or sending or uploading any material that contains viruses or technologically harmful material; or
(g) denial of service attacks or distributed denial of service attacks; or
(h) accessing any website, computer equipment, network, systems or software that you are not authorised to access.
(i) create or publish a hypertext link to any part of our site without our express written consent;
(j) use any of the content of our site or any of our (or any third party licensor's) names, logos, brands or marks without our express written consent; or
(k) attempt any unauthorised access to any part of our site.
You agree to ensure that all information you provide to us is accurate and up to date.
You agree that, in the event you have any right, claim or action against any third party arising out of that third party's use of our site, then you will pursue such right, claim or action independently of us.
Where applicable, we may report any criminal offences committed by you, in breach of the above provisions, to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we reserve the right to co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. If you do fail to comply with these terms, your right to use our site will cease immediately.
If you intend to make a payment, set up a Direct Debit or deferment application please refer to the terms and conditions of your student loan. For the avoidance of doubt those terms and conditions will continue to govern any of your activities on our site relating to the management and repayment of your student loan in addition to these terms of use.
Our additional rights
We may investigate any complaints relating to our site and take any action that we believe is appropriate (which may include, but is not limited to, removing any materials from our site).
Our site is subject to change from time to time. You will not be eligible for any compensation because you cannot use any part of our site or because of a failure, suspension or withdrawal of all or part of our site for any reason.
Intellectual property rights
We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights (including but not limited to patents, registered designs, design rights, copyright, database rights, trademarks, service marks, rights and goodwill in trade or business names, and rights in inventions, know-how and trade secrets) in our site, in all materials and content contained within our site, including the design, text, graphics and arrangement of items, shall remain at all times owned by us or our licensors. You are permitted to use these materials and content only as expressly authorised by us.
You may print off one copy, and you may download extracts, of any page(s) from our site for your personal use.

We do not guarantee that our site will be secure or free from bugs or viruses. You are responsible for configuring your information technology, computer programs and platform in order to access our site. You should use your own virus protection software.
Linking to our site
You may link to our home page, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it. You must not establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement on our part where none exists.

Applicable law
